Hector “Macho” Camacho is in the hospital after being shot in the face late Tuesday night.
ESPN updates us on his condition.

“Macho Camacho is in stable but critical condition this morning after being shot in the face. Doctors treating Camacho say he went into cardiac arrest but was then stabilized.”

According to The Examiner, the 50-year-old former boxer was riding in the passenger seat of a Mustang when he was shot.
Central Florida News 13 has details.

“Investigators say people in two cars were shooting at each other in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Camacho inside one of those cars. Someone else inside his car was shot and killed.”

The Bleacher Report says the bullet ricocheted off a bone in Camacho’s jaw and became lodged in his spine.
His doctor says if he survives, he may have trouble walking for the rest of his life.

Camacho’s career spanned 30 years with his greatest success in the 80s and early 90s but made several comebacks as recently as two years ago.
Fox News says he faced some of sports greatest fighters including Julio Cesar Chavez, Sugar Ray Leonard and Oscar De La Hoya.

Police have not released a motive in the shooting but Fox News reports they have a suspect or person of interest in custody.
