“If Israel’s going to do anything against Buesher, they’re going to have to move within the next 8 days.  If they don’t, then as I say, something Saddam Hussein wanted but couldn’t get—a functioning nuclear reactor—because the Israelis bombed it in 1981, something that Bashir Alasad in Syria wanted—a functioning nuclear reactor—until the Israelis bombed it, couldn’t get, Iran—sworn enemies of Israel—will have.”
(Fox Business)

That’s former U.S. ambassador to the U.N. John Bolton - telling Fox Business: Israel should attack Iran’s nuclear plant — before it’s too late.

And Bolton isn’t alone in the discussion.  Writer Jeffrey Goldberg - argued heavily for the U.S. invasion of Iraq—writes a lengthy essay for The Atlantic prospecting a war between Israel and Iran.  He says, with the Holocaust in mind, Israel will not hesitate to defend its people if it feels threatened by Iran.

“If a strike does succeed in crippling the Iranian nuclear program, Israel . . . will have removed from its list of existential worries the immediate specter of nuclear-weaponized, theologically driven, eliminationist anti-Semitism.”

But Alex Jones read a piece on his radio show calling John Bolton and Fox News ‘propaganda pundits.’

“As a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, Iran has the right to build nuclear reactors for its civil energy needs. ...  Bolton and the neo-cons refuse to accept that the facility will produce nuclear energy and insist it will be used to create nuclear weapons.”

Iran’s state-owned Press TV reports Iranian Defense Minsiter Ahmad Vahidi’s (Va-hee-dee) response to a potential attack.

“This is indicative of the fact that they are basically opposed to Iran's progress, while all the details about the plant are clear and there is no reason to stop its operation… We may lose a power plant, but the whole existence of the Zionist regime will be jeopardized.”

In an accompanying video to Goldberg’s Atlantic essay, writer Christopher Hitchens says Israel has too much to lose—as Iran’s nuclear prospects are a legitimate threat.

“Well, in my view it’s enough to be menaced.  We’re not going to wait until a person can prove they can make good on a threat.  Don’t look at me like that.  Don’t talk to me that way.  Don’t talk about the Jewish people that way either.  If punishment falls on you, don’t say, ‘What?  We haven’t done anything yet.’  Yes you did. You really looked as if you were going to and its too late to do it when you have.”

So, what do you think?  Should Israel launch a pre-emptive strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities?  Or is that just too risky?
