“Usain bolt getting into his running, here he comes, challenged by Tyson gay, Usain bolt by two clear meters... 9.58! Smashing the world record, unbelievable!”

That was video from World Athletic Championships in Berlin Sunday night. Bolt demolished his previous world record of 9.69.

People all over the world are praising Bolt’s accomplishment.

Just how fast is 9.58 seconds? An analyst for ESPN breaks down his historic run.

“What is the miles per hour for 9.58?
Good question, at top speed in the middle of race, its just a hair under 30 miles an hour on two legs.  Wow”

The Worlds fastest man attributes his success to hard work in Jamaica as a kid.

The Christian Science Monitor has a perspective from the MVP training facility in Jamaica, which was founded in the hopes of producing world-class athletes.

“This is UTECHs track.  This is where we have trained for 30 years.  Sometimes when people ask to see the track where we trained and we point to this they almost can’t believe it.

Bolt plans to push the boundaries even further. The six-foot-five freak is setting his sights on 9.4.

The Brisbane Times agrees its possible, and interviews a biologist who says that sprinters are growing in size at an astonishing rate.

“...Thanks to the habit of athletes marrying athletes... runners would continue growing taller, more powerful and faster.  I am sure the record will go less than nine seconds one day, to a seven-foot man.”

Live Science conducted a study and found similar results...

“World record sprinters have gained an average of 6.4 inches of height since 1900, while champion swimmers have shot up 4.5 inches [humans in general have only shot up 1.9 inches]

So how much faster do you think Bolt can go?  Do you believe that the worlds fastest man will one day be 7 feet tall?
