Music’s mega couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z are just like any proud parents. Changing diapers, taking care of late night feedings … oh, and posting pictures of baby Blue Ivy online. The duo took to Tumblr to debut baby Blue -- NBC has the pics.
“They’re posting a series of intimate portraits of themselves with their new bundle of joy on their website. Blue Ivy was born just over a month ago. Beyoncé and Jay-Z say they welcome their fans to share in their joy.”
Hollywood Life finds the choice to post the pics online refreshing.
“In a world where most celebrities sell their baby pics to major magazines and tabloids, this was a shocking move … Instead of having Annie Leibovitz take portraits of Blue Ivy and then pasting them on the cover of Vanity Fair (yes, I’m looking at YOU, Suri Cruise) they put them up for free ...”
MTV says the celebrity world is already crazy in love with baby Blue.
“Aunt Solange Knowles shared on Twitter ‘THE PROUDEST AUNT IN THE WORLD….OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL IN THE WORLD #HELLOBLUE …’ and TV personality and mommy herself La La Vasquez ReTweeted Solange and added, ‘Beautiful beyond words!’”
The Washington Post reports the big reveal isn’t the only Blue Ivy news this week.
“… new parents Beyoncé and Jay-Z filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to protect the baby’s name — and reserve it for a future line of baby carriages, baby cosmetics, diaper bags and other undoubtedly fabulous accoutrements for the fashion-forward infant.”
But is that extreme? Bey and Jay have skipped a lot of opportunities to profit off their private life – remember they didn’t sell their wedding pics, either. Hollyscoop says they’re just trying to keep their daughter from being exploited.
“The move may seem overzealous, but it already proven a smart thing to do, because two other people already tried to trademark the name for perfume for perfume and a fashion line. They were both denied.”
