The best method to bag Black Friday bargains? Try brute force. KGO explains.
“A woman used pepper spray to get a head start on fellow shoppers at a crowded Wal-Mart in L.A. The store had only been open for 10 minutes when it happened shortly after 10:00 last night.”
And this shopping scuffle, which injured more than 20 people, including children, reportedly started as customers waited in line for video game consoles. One witness describes the chaotic scene to CBS...
"People started screaming, pulling and pushing each other, and then the whole area filled up with pepper spray. I did not want to get involved. I was too scared.”
But some shoppers were relatively unfazed by the markdown melee. One customer who arrived after the incident tells the Los Angeles Times...
"I don't care. I'm still getting my TV. I've never seen Wal-Mart so crazy, but I guess it could have been worse."
Meanwhile, commentators at Fox News were flabbergasted by the shoppers strong-arm tactics.
Anchor 1: “A shopper actually used pepper spray. Some call it ‘competitive’ shopping. Can you imagine? I call it ‘criminal shopping’.
Anchor 2: “What was this woman thinking using pepper spray to get ahead in line? Like she wouldn’t get caught?
As of Friday morning police were still looking for the suspect.
Unfortunately, this wasn’t the only case of Black Friday brutality. CNN reports at least three other cases of shopping related violence-- including an attempted robbery outside a Wal-Mart in South Carolina, shots fired outside a mall in South Carolina, and a fight at a jewelry counter at a Florida Wal-Mart.
