Is Beyonce’s baby bump bogus? News12 Long Island has the clip stirring up the controversy.

“You have to watch this- this interview has some questioning Beyonce’s baby bump. Did you see her sit down there? Watch her do it again. This is an interview on an Australian TV show. Her mid-section seems to, uh, collapse a bit. It’s causing some to wonder if she’s wearing a prosthetic belly and a surrogate is carrying her baby. Beyonce’s publicist says the rumors are quote, ‘stupid, ridiculous, and false.’”

But some -- like this Starcasm blogger -- aren’t buying that excuse.

“I’m wondering if perhaps that line wasn’t taken out of context and her rep was in fact not talking about the rumors being ‘stupid, ridiculous, and false’ but Beyonce’s baby bump instead … Hmmmmmm…”

Entertainment Weekly backs up the publicist, asking why would the bearer of ‘Sasha Fetus’ fake us out?

“Aren’t there plenty of rational explanations for this? Awkward shadows cast from those unflattering TV lights? Maybe some wayward Spanx rolled down the wrong way? Plus, we’ve already seen the Pregancé in a bikini, and it’s real.”

So is this a case of déjà vu? Entertainment Weekly is referencing this pic from early September, in which B’s baby bump appeared a lot smaller than-

- here, during her big pregnancy reveal at the MTV Video Music Awards, earlier in the month.

The Examiner argues there are plenty of reasons for a pretend pregnancy.

“Think about this, not only will she gain much more attention as a pregnant mother versus expecting a baby from a surrogate; she will step out after having the baby thin as a rail … This could be a very smart publicity move on her part.”

And, fake or not, Australia’s Daily Telegraph suggests Beyonce’s just being a businesswoman.

“And of course, she is seizing the opportunity to turn her pregnancy into a money spinner by launching her own maternity line.”

Beyonce and Jay-Z will welcome their baby -- in some way -- in February.
