Beyonce has given birth! The 30-year-old singer welcomed a baby girl Saturday night.

Beyonce reportedly gave birth by caesarean section in New York. She was first reported to have had the baby New Year’s Eve weekend, but turns out those were just rumors. And now -- another big rumor -- the New York Daily News says she and husband Jay-Z rented out the entire fourth floor of Lennox Hill Hospital for the birth at a costly $1.3 million. The paper describes the scene: (ITN)

“ ... people were seen bringing bags of takeout and a dozen bottles of red wine onto the heavily guarded hospital wing. After 11 p.m., even doctors and nurses were barred … In an effort to keep images from leaking to the public, hospital workers placed tape over security cameras and are forcing employees to turn in cell phones when they arrive for their shifts, a source said.”

And, it’s always the question with celebrities -- what’s the baby’s name? Reports are varied. Seems the little lady’s first and middle names are definitely ‘Blue’ and ‘Ivy’ -- but different outlets are reporting different orders.

Sites such as CinemaBlend and ...

… the singer’s hometown paper, The Houston Chronicle, say ‘Ivy Blue’

But People magazine ...

… and The Daily Mail say ‘Blue Ivy’

Must we turn to Twitter for confirmation? Celebrity pals including Russell Simmons and Rihanna have Tweeted congrats to the very private couple -- neither of whom have Twitter accounts of their own. And it’s friend Gwyneth Paltrow’s Tweet that names a name.

The actress calls her baby ‘Blue.’

Indeed, Beyonce and Jay-Z didn’t confirm their wedding in 2008, so it’s no surprise -- the two have not made an announcement regarding the birth. But WABC reports, the girl is practically a public figure already.

“It’s the first child for both parents and it is such a trending topic on Twitter. The baby’s name is the top trending topic worldwide.”
