“And the winner is, Chris Brown “Look at me now”--I’m sorry Rihanna “What’s My Name.” [zimbio]

Confused? So were BET Awards fans and officials as Chris Brown’s award was given to his ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

The confusion didn’t end there, the announcment was botched again when another host gave Brown’s Viewers Choice Award to his rival Drake.

“...We’ll this is awkard...”

Awkward is right--social media sites exploded with comments about Tiffany Greene’s mistake. Greene was a contest winner and according to the Washington post, she didn’t get much of a prize.

“Greene took to Twitter to blame BET. Before she went onstage, Green tweeted that the show was running long and her script had been cut short. After returning from the flub, she tweeted,“The tablet [expletive] said CHRIS BROWN....the TELEPROMPTER said Rihanna.”

BET quickly went on damage control, at the end of the show Chris Brown was called up to accept his prize, but a writer for the LA times thinks it was too little too late.

“The damage was already done, considering a chunk of the audience had already started filing out of the venue....”

So who was to blame? BET executive Stephen Hill took to Twitter after rumors swirled that the incident was a PR stunt.

“That BET Awards Viewer's Choice mix-up was due to human error. And I was the human that made that error. I apologize to ALL affected.”
