Glenn Beck finds himself in the midst of controversy-- after comparing the camp where 68 Norwegian children were gunned down to the Hitler Youth Camps of Nazi Germany. The Guardian has the sound bite from Beck’s radio show.

“And then there was a shooting at a political camp which sounds a little like, you know, the Hitler Youth, or whatever. I mean who does a camp for kids that’s all about politics? Disturbing.”

But media outlets were quick to point out-- Beck is actually behind a political camp for kids. Beck’s 9/12 project has already held summer camps for kids in several cities, such as this one in Tampa, Florida.

“Kids aged 8-12 years old will have fun while learning the principles of liberty, free markets, and limited government.”

Back in 2010 -- comedian and Daily Show contributor Lewis Black said --making comparisons to Nazi Germany is one of Beck’s go-to tactics.

Black: "And it works for anything, the national endowment for the arts..."

Beck: "Advocating through art is known as propaganda, hmm you should look up the name Goebbels..."

Black: "Teaching kids about climate change..."

Beck: "...some may believe we’re on the road to the Hitler Youth..."

Black: "Glenn Beck has Nazi Tourettes!”

But the former press secretary to Norway’s prime minister tells the Daily Telegraph-- this one went too far.

"Young political activists have gathered at Utoya for over 60 years to learn about and be part of democracy, the very opposite of what the Hitler Youth was about. Glenn Beck's comments are ignorant, incorrect and extremely hurtful."

But Beck isn’t apologizing. Huffington Post reports, Beck seemed to defend his comments on his radio show the next day-- and kept the comparisons coming.

“...he did not mention the stir directly, but instead discussed a book about the early days of Nazi Germany that he is reading. He said he saw parallels between Hitler's statements to the Germans and President Obama's statements to the American public.”

Beck unveiled his new Internet channel GBTV last month.
