Baylor University has been hogging sports headlines for a while now. The latest news? Just a historic run by the women’s basketball team. ESPN has the coverage.

“The Baylor Lady Bears climb a mountain no one has ever climbed before: a 40-0 unbeaten season and a national title to boot.”

Other recent Baylor success stories include the men’s basketball team reaching the Elite 8 for the second time in 3 years.

And, oh yea, Robert Griffin III pulling in the Heisman.  A blogger for Yahoo Sports says he’s been one of the biggest Baylor sports fans around.

“RGIII was often seen in the crowd as the Baylor men's team drove to the Elite 8, and he was repping it hard as the Lady Bears finished a perfect 40-0 season...”

Just weeks after being named Head Coach of the Year in women’s college basketball, Kim Mulkey was diagnosed with a nerve disease that paralyzed the left side of her face.  But Mulkey says her team’s uniqueness keeps her going.  Here’s Fox Sports.

“I couldn’t walk in that locker room and hoodwink em and tell em we don’t have those expectations.  You’re not that good.  You’re one of many.  Because truthfully, we’re pretty special.”

And that talent doesn’t seem to be going anywhere.  A reporter from The Coloradoan says the future remains bright for the Lady Bears.

“And here's the bad news for all the other women's Division I teams in the country: The Bears will return their entire starting lineup and nearly all their significant players for the 2012-13 campaign.”
