Perhaps no one knows that feeling better than the guy who ended up in Grenada in the Caribbean instead of Granada, Spain, a few weeks ago — a nearly 4,000-mile mistake courtesy of British Airways. (Via NBC)
And passengers on board a US Airways flight to Philadelphia last month felt it too when a dog relieved itself in the middle of the aisle, creating a stench that lingered for the rest of the flight. (Via Fox News)
But some lucky passengers on a Frontier Airlines plane were treated to an unexpected, pleasant surprise after their flight was diverted and delayed Monday night.
"And I think it's time to take care of my passengers here, and I called Domino's and ordered some pizza. Whoever is with me, they're not gonna go hungry!" (Via KTLA)
Passengers on board Frontier Airlines Flight 719 told KDVR they were treated to dozens of pizzas by the captain himself after bad weather forced the Denver-bound flight to land in Wyoming.
"The first thing he does is gets on the intercom. And he goes, 'Ladies and gentlemen, Frontier Airlines is known for being one of the cheapest airlines in the U.S., but your captain is not cheap. I just ordered pizza for the entire plane.'" (Via KDVR)
Charitable and brutally honest to boot! KUSA reports the captain was hungry when the flight was delayed. But instead of getting just enough food for himself, he paid an unspecified amount out of his own pocket to feed his passengers.

One Domino's employee told reporters it normally takes an hour to make that many pizzas, but they had to make and deliver them in 30 minutes for this unusual order.

As for why the captain decided to do all this, he says it was his duty.
"If the need arises you need to take care of your family, you need to take care of your passengers. They are my responsibility the moment they step on the aircraft until they get off the aircraft." (Via KUSA)
With everyone's stomachs full, the plane finally arrived in Denver just after midnight — almost five hours late. But, hey, at least some delicious pizza beats those little bags of peanuts and pretzels, right?
