He placed second -- actually almost tied for first -- at Saturday’s Ames Straw Poll -- but political analysts are just now starting to notice...
FOX NEWS: “No one, point no one, is talking about Ron Paul in any of the discussions.”
FOX BUSINESS NETWORK: “People on twitter who talk to me are saying what about Ron Paul? We don’t hear his name anymore?”
Some say Texas congressman Ron Paul -- a contender in the race for the GOP presidential nomination -- isn’t getting credit where credit’s due.
The candidate who narrowly won -- got top billing the next day on ALL FIVE Sunday shows. Paul -- wasn’t interviewed on any.
Politico’s Roger Simon observes...
“But ‘close’ does not fully describe Paul’s second-place finish. Paul lost to Bachmann by nine-tenths of one percentage point, or 152 votes out of 16,892 cast. If it had been an election, such a result would almost certainly have triggered a recount.”
So -- what gives? That’s a question even some of you -- Newsy viewers -- have asked. On CNN, syndicated radio talk show host Stephanie Miller hazards a guess.
“That's the one thing Donald Trump has ever been right about, he's unelectable. My favorite part of the debate Thursday night is Rick Santorum broke the golden rule and that's pretending Ron Paul is invisible.”
And that seems to be the mainstream media’s general consensus -- that he’s unelectable. Given the fact this is his third run for the White House -- it seems an easy conclusion. But The New American warns -- this time is different.
“But given the experience of the past four years, the retired obstetrician's warnings of an economic collapse, his scathing criticism of the Federal Reserve Board's monetary manipulations, and his outspoken opposition to a growing and costly array of military interventions are capturing the attention of a public weary of wars and burdened by a weak economy.”
