No illegal drugs present.
That’s the conclusion from the toxicology report-- of late singer Amy Winehouse.
Here’s ABC with more.
“...it turns out she was clean at the time of her death last month. Winehouse had a long and public battle with drugs but her family says toxicology reports have shown there were no illegal drugs in her system when she died last month.”
A spokesperson for Winehouse’s family says-- there was alcohol present-- but it’s unknown if it quote- “played a role in her death.”

Previous reports had suggested-- alcohol withdrawal had played some part in her death.
But a writer for MedPage today explains and notes-- the toxicology report suggests otherwise.
“Earlier, the family had claimed that Winehouse had stopped her heavy drinking days before her death and that alcohol withdrawal syndromewas the most likely cause of death. The finding of alcohol in her system, therefore, casts doubt on that theory, with the actual cause of her death still a mystery.”
Finally, a writer for CinemaBlend says -- the report only adds to the tragedy of Winehouse’s death.
“...regardless of whether the alcohol played a role in her death or not, it seems clear Amy was on the upswing, making the timing of her passing all the more tragic.”
The Winehouse family has announced plans to establish a charitable foundation in the singer’s name to help those struggling with addiction.
Reports say-- the full outcome of the investigation into Winehouse’s death will be released in October.
