Apparently America doesn’t want world peace, or at least the Metta kind. Viewers sent the ballplayer formally known as Ron Artest and his Aussie partner Peta Murgatroyd home Tuesday night on the Dancing with the Stars results show. Here’s Good Morning America.
Anchor:“So I would imagine Metta no regrets doing this right?”
Metta:“I mean, I got a chance to you know learn how to dance. From NY, we just 2-step in the club you know. And Peta got me really interested in like dancing you know?”
But what about Metta’s name-change? Did it confuse voters looking to dial-in for Ron? Zap2it says Peace doesn’t think so.
“He was careful to note that he didn't think that the name change had any effect on the voting. With only a combined score of 14, the premiere's lowest, he was simply out-danced.”
Metta and Peta received a score of 14 out of 30 for their cha-cha going into the elimination, and most sources report saying peace to the couple wasn’t a surprise. A writer for Snark Food says...
“Oh, Peta was great and the consumate professional. Ron Artest, however, was like a log with wooden legs. He might ‘dance’ on the basketball court, but in the ballroom he is a dud.”
And on Jimmy Kimmel Live Metta World Peace jokes about his first and last performance.
Metta: I just didn’t pay attention to detail as you can see like my hand was like crooked...
Jimmy:“I don’t think your toes can point down like this...”
Metta: “This one doesn’t go down, but the other one does and I was trying to tell Lynn this toe doesn’t work, this one works and these just uh man...”
Jimmy:“You should have explained that to the studio audience...”
Joining Peace in the bottom three on Tuesday? Rob Kardashian and Nancy Grace. The next episode airs live Monday night on ABC.
