Two and a Half Men is ready for its close-up following the taping of the first Sheen-less episode. Hollyscoop has the rundown.

“The new season of Two and a Half Men will feature Charlie Sheen’s character, Charlie Harper, dying and Ashton’s character will take on his role. Ashton will play broken-hearted internet billionaire, Walden Schmidt.

So basically Alan and Jake will still refuse to move out. Ashton will take on the role of a rich guy who lives in a Malibu beach house? Groundbreaking stuff guys.”

Sheen’s character will meet his end after being hit by a Parisian subway car. A blogger for Yahoo! isn’t surprised that the show’s creators killed him off in such an irrevocable fashion.

“Considering ‘Men’creator Chuck Lorre’s skirmishes with Sheen, is it any wonder that he’d make sure there’s no way the troubled actor would ever set foot on the show again?”

The show will start with Charlie’s funeral and Kutcher’s character buying his home. A WebProNews blogger writes that Kutcher is a good pick to play an Internet mogul.

“Sounds about right, don’t you think? Kutcher is best known these days as a man of the internets. Not only is he one of the princes of Twitter, but he has launched a YouTube campaign against human sex-slave trafficking.”

Everyone who attended the filming had to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Even so, Deadline managed to get a few comments.

“‘They brought back something that was working, the writing and the supporting cast, and added a new element, Ashton Kutcher, who is breathing new life,’said one attendee.”

And just how is the snubbed Sheen taking all this? He tells TMZ he’s holding his own private watch party.

“I will be watching my fake funeral, attended by my fake ex-girlfriends, from my very, very real movie theater, with my very real hotties in tow.”

The new season of Two and a Half Men premieres this September.
