It’s “The Moose” versus “The Situation”.
Abercrombie & Fitch has offered to pay ab-flashing Jersey Shore star Mike Sorrentino to stop wearing its brand. ABC has the story:

Anchor (1): “They want to pay The Situation and other cast members to not wear their clothes. They released a statement Tuesday saying...”
Anchor (2): “The Situation doesn’t wear clothes, that’s the whole point. It’s his abs he’s talking about.
Anchor (1): “He says we understand the show is for entertainment purposes, but we believe this association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand and may be distressing to many of our fans.”

A & F says it offered The Situation -- among other cast members and some producers -- a “substantial payment” to put down the duds for good. But some say this could just be an ironic publicity stunt for the clothing brand.

According to New York Magazine…

Oh Abercrombie is loving this...But this is surely not the last time they'll capitalize on the exposure. Last summer, Sorrentino told New York, ‘Abercrombie & Fitch, their most popular shirt, they told me, is ‘Fitchuation.’ I mean, where did they get that from? Obviously from myself.’”

But Jezebel points out-- we’re talking about A&F-- the company that features scantily-clad models in bro-friendly clothes and sells micro-mini skirts to tweens

Because seeing The Situation wearing an A&F-branded t-shirt is so much less disturbing than that padded swimsuit for little girls.”

And while some are embarrassed by The Situation’s Moose-laden wardrobe choices as well as A&F’s retail persona, GQ says it’s all about the body.

Hmm. Call us crazy, but isn't this a label who consistently whores its half naked 'employees' out to horny teens hating on a dude who likes to strip down? We've got news for you A+F, those tourists wrapped around the block on 5th Avenue aren't there to see those beautiful new cardigans... they want the abs.”

MTV hasn’t released an official statement yet. As for A & F-- it’s patiently awaiting a response from Sorrentino and the rest of the cast.
