In 2011, some notable political blunders stood out for their...buffoonry...and either audacity or complete technological ignorance. It was the year of Social-Media-Gate: because you can add -gate to any scandal and make it more intriguing!

First we’ve got Chris Lee -- a married-with-kid Republican Representative from New York, who Gawker busted in February for sending a racy pic of himself on Craigslist looking for a bit of Washington D.C. local lovin’. He first denied it was him...despite his photo...and then resigned.

And you can’t forget about Democrat David Wu -- whose bizarre string of antics -- including an alleged sexual tryst with an 18-year-old daughter of a family friend -- catapulted him out of his Oregon representative seat. But there’s more to the story. The New York Times has it.

“Mr. Wu has been under fire for months as he fought earlier allegations of a mental breakdown after a divorce last year. In February, several staff members quit after describing erratic behavior and unwanted e-mails that included a picture of Mr. Wu dressed in a tiger outfit.”

And...this pretty much sums up Wu’s blunder-ful fall-from grace. This was part of an email he sent to staff.

But lest we forget the Macdaddy of internet Maccin’ -- Anthony Weiner...and his...weiner.

This bad boy made some social media waves when his Twitter was "hacked," and he sent provocative photos to... a number of people, without his new wife’s knowledge. And she was pregnant at the time.

All three Congressman -- if you don’t remember -- ended up resigning. May the Craigslist Congressman, The Wu Scandal, and Weinergate rest in infamous peace and warn all the creepy Congressman out there to keep it in their pants and off their profiles.
