James Corden Gave A Really Touching Tribute To George Michael

Pass the tissues.

James Corden took time from his first show of 2017 to pay tribute to George Michael, an LGBTQ icon and pop legend. In the days since his death, many have spoken about Michael's contributions to music, but Corden took a different route, instead telling how Michael impacted his own life.

Apparently, it was Michael who inspired and first took part in Corden's claim to fame: Carpool Karaoke. Stars ranging from One Direction to Elton John have all been a part of the segment, but Michael was the first — and perhaps the reason it took off at all.

Corden says when Mariah Carey first agreed to do Carpool Karaoke, she said, "If it's good enough for George, then it's good enough for me."
