"When President Trump, during the election, promised all these things that he was going to do for us — I knew he was going to do this for us," Huber said at a rally Saturday.

During his rally in Melbourne, Florida, President Donald Trump called Gene Huber up on stage. The moment was clearly a surprise to Huber and the Secret Service.

The White House called the Saturday evening event a Make America Great Again Rally. The event was similar to those Trump held while on the 2016 campaign trail.

Huber was the first person in line for the rally and gave several interviews to the press. That's why Trump brought him on stage in the first place.

Huber is such a big fan of the president that he has a 6-foot cardboard cutout of Trump.

"And I salute that every single day and pray and I tell him, 'Mr. President, I pray for your safety today,'" Huber told CNN's Pamela Brown.
