A number of charities, businesses and celebrities are asking for help in assisting Tropical Storm Harvey victims.

Harvey was a Category 4 hurricane when it hit southeast Texas on Friday, with winds exceeding 130 mph.

Meteorologists predict some parts of Houston may get as much as 50 inches of rainfall by the time Harvey's localized storms pass. And officials estimate more than 30,000 people will need temporary shelter.

The following are some ways you can help: Houston's mayor set up a flood relief fund to take donations.

The Red Cross is offering shelter and supplies and is taking donations by credit card and text.

If you donate to the Red Cross through Amazon's website, the company is matching donations up to $1 million

And country star Chris Young started a GoFundMe to transfer donations to the Red Cross. He donated $100,000 himself. Houston Texans star J.J. Watt started a YouCaring fundraising page, which had almost $450,000 in donations by early Monday afternoon.

The Red Cross and the Salvation Army are both looking for volunteers, and people are also encouraged to donate blood.
