The parents of "Star Trek" actor Anton Yelchin, who was killed by his own Jeep, are suing.

"It's against nature when the parents bury their own child," his father said at a press conference.

The 27-year-old actor was best known for his role as Chekov in "Star Trek." Earlier this summer, Yelchin's 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee rolled down his driveway and trapped him against a mailbox and a security gate.

His parents are seeking punitive damages, arguing Jeep's parent company, Fiat Chrysler, knew the car had a parking defect. The company recalled more than 800,000 vehicles after consumers complained about them rolling away.

Variety reports a recall notice was mailed to Yelchin seven days after his death, according to the family's attorney.
