Fox News Anchor Is Calling Out The President For False Statements

Shepard Smith of Fox News defended the media's tough questions in Thursday's press conference.

President Donald Trump has criticized, in his words, the "mainstream media" as "fake news." CNN is perhaps one of Trump's biggest fact-checkers, but Fox News' Shepard Smith is also calling out the president on his inaccuracies.

"Your opposition was hacked, and the Russians were responsible for it, and your people were on the phone with Russia on the same day it was happening, and we’re fools for asking the questions?" Smith asked.

During Thursday's hourlong press conference, Trump had accused the media of falsely drawing a connection between his campaign and Russia, among other things.

Fox News is one of the few outlets Trump has praised, so it will be interesting to see if and how he responds to Smith's commentary.
