U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks is currently running for the Senate seat left vacant by Attorney General Jeff Sessions. But he says he'll leave the race if Sessions wants his old position back.
In a statement Wednesday, he called President Donald Trump's recent criticism of Sessions "public waterboarding," and Sessions himself "one of the greatest people Alabama has ever produced."

Attached was a resolution that said he'd withdraw from the Senate race if the nine other Republican candidates did so as well.
Sessions' future as attorney general is uncertain. President Trump began lashing out at him after he chose to recuse himself from the Russia investigation.
Trump criticized Sessions on Twitter Wednesday for not replacing the current acting FBI director.
And the The Washington Post reports that White House officials have been throwing around ideas for replacements.
Sessions has said that he has no intention of resigning, but that doesn't mean he's there to stay. Regarding Sessions' job security, the president said Tuesday: "Time will tell."
