Elon Musk May Not Be Able To Sell His Flamethrowers In California

Elon Musk's Boring Company has sold thousands of its new flamethrowers, and people are questioning their safety.

Elon Musk says his Boring Company has sold $5 million worth of flamethrowers since pre-orders opened over the weekend. Now, a politician in California is trying to ban them for the public.

The flamethrowers cost $500 a pop. They shoot fire under 10 feet in length, which according to Musk makes them "A-ok" legally.

Miguel Santiago, the politician trying to ban them, at first thought the devices were a joke. He called it "terribly insensitive" given that California is recovering from devastating wildfires.

Santiago reportedly plans to introduce legislation to block selling them to the public.
