Multiple news outlets report a 6.4 magnitude earthquake in Hualien, Taiwan, toppled buildings Tuesday.

Part of a hotel reportedly collapsed, and emergency crews are working to rescue dozens of people trapped inside.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the earthquake had very strong perceived shaking and moderate potential damage.

Photos posted on social media show damage to buildings and massive cracks in roads. There's no word yet on injuries.
