Pence 'Whipped Out That Mexican Thing' And Twitter Users Whipped It Right BackBy Kristin Rohlwing | October 5, 2016
Tuesday night's vice presidential debate was kind of a trainwreck. The candidates consistently deflected questions and interrupted each other.
No, seriously — this debate was basically just two men talking over each other for 90 minutes.
And like clockwork, someone said something they shouldn't have, which effectively prompted Twitter users to fire away.
"When Donald Trump says women should be punished or Mexicans are rapists and criminals — and John McCain's not a hero — he's showing you who he is," Senator Tim Kaine said.
Queue Governor Mike Pence's speedy response: "Senator, you whipped out that Mexican thing again."
It's now trending on Twitter, with many users taking it and reclaiming the phrase.
