Judges Asked Miss Hawaii Whom She's Voting For, And People Are LividBy Sadé Carpenter | June 6, 2016
Deshauna Barber, Miss District of Columbia USA, won the 2016 Miss USA Pageant last night.
Most of the Twitterverse celebrated her win, but some were unhappy about a moment involving another contestant.
The judges asked Miss Hawaii Chelsea Hardin whether she'd vote for Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump for president and why.
Audience members booed.
Whoooo. Audience is very unhappy with that question on Hawaii. She sidestepped nicely! #missusa— Michelle Hanson (@michellehanson) June 6, 2016
But Miss Hawaii tackled the question with grace.
Miss Hawaii's question was completely uncalled for, but she answered it with class. #MissUSA— Sam Beemer (@sam_beemer) June 6, 2016
EXCUSE ME, SHAME ON MISS USA FOR THAT QUESTION. Miss Hawaii is such a poised young woman and handled that flawlessly. #MissUSA— Absofcourse (@Absofcourseee) June 6, 2016
