A Fox News Anchor Went Toe-To-Toe With A Writer From Teen VogueBy Tyler Fine | December 24, 2016
What happens when a Fox News anchor goes toe-to-toe with a Teen Vogue writer? In short, a lot of yelling.
Fox News' Tucker Carlson brought Teen Vogue's Lauren Duca onto his show Friday. And it went about as you'd expect.
Duca was recently pulled into the political fray after writing a scathing — and widely shared — op-ed about Donald Trump. But Carlson seemed more interested in discussing her recent tweets about Ivanka Trump:
Ivanka HAS IT ALL, & by that I mean, "a job, family, & sinister complicity in aiding the most aggressively anti-woman candidate of our time"— Lauren Duca (@laurenduca) December 19, 2016
Ivanka Trump is poised to become the most powerful woman in the world. Don't let her off the hook because she looks like she smells good.— Lauren Duca (@laurenduca) December 23, 2016
Carlson accused Duca of supporting a recent incident in which an airplane passenger berated Ivanka Trump and her family.
Duca attempted to defend her statements, but the discussion quickly dissolved. The segment ended with the pair trading barbs about each other's professions.
After repeatedly being interrupted, Duca called the host "unprofessional."
"You're actually being a partisan hack who is just attacking me and not even allowing me to speak," Duca said.
Before abruptly ending the interview, Carlson mocked Duca's fashion writing for Teen Vogue, saying: "You should stick to the thigh-high boots. You're better at that."
Duca wasn't about to let Carlson have the last word, though. She tweeted this immediately after.
.@TuckerCarlson is an enemy of rational discourse. In this fraught moment, his bully tactics are profoundly damaging, and achieve nothing.— Lauren Duca (@laurenduca) December 24, 2016
