Hey, So Who Invited Kim Davis To The State Of The Union?
January 12, 2016
Kim Davis was in fact one of the guests in attendance at Tuesday night's State of the Union address.
She became a national talking point last year when she refused to issue same-sex marriages in her state of Kentucky.
You'll remember that not one, but two presidential candidates (Ted Cruz and Mike Huckabee) showed up at a Kentucky jail when she was released.
According to various media outlets, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) is the one who gave his ticket to Davis, but in sort of a roundabout way.
Jordan told BuzzFeed News: “Kim Davis used our ticket. Our staff heard from the Family Research Council that Ms. Davis and her family hoped to attend the State of the Union address and so I offered a ticket.”
So, there you have it.
