Colors Of The French Flag Illuminate The Eiffel Tower To Honor Paris Attack Victims

November 16, 2015

As Paris mourns the lives of the 129 victims in Friday’s attacks, life is slowly returning to normal.

On Monday night, the Eiffel Tower — bathed in blue, white and red light (the colors of the French flag) — reopened as people cheered.

Along with the Tricolor, reflected onto the deck of the tower's first floor is Paris’ motto "Fluctuat nec mergitur," which translates to "tossed but not sunk."
