Chris Christie: Donald Trump's 'Manservant'?

By Newsy Staff | June 13, 2016

Buried a ways down in a Ryan Lizza piece in The New Yorker is this gem:

"Governor Chris Christie, of New Jersey, another of Trump's opponents early in the campaign, has transformed himself into a sort of manservant, who is constantly with Trump at events. (One Republican told me that a friend of his on the Trump campaign used Snapchat to send him a video of Christie fetching Trump's McDonald's order.)"

We haven’t seen the video, but Gawker is working on it.

Seriously, though, this is how media narratives get started. You might remember back in February after Christie introduced Donald Trump at a rally, social media went nuts over a hot mic moment when Trump could be heard telling Christie to "Get on the plane and go home."

For those inclined to view Christie as an opportunist desperate to secure a spot in a Trump White House, though, Lizza's report isn't likely to change minds.
