Get the name right....it's not Joe..ba. If your going to do the sports, and more importantly, the YANKEES. Get from under the rock you must be living under and at least pronounce the name right. It's not like this guy your reporting on is one of the most important pitchers in MLB or on on the Biggest teams of all of sports...the Yankee roster... From the sound of it, this might be news to you.. Sorry, Job...aaa!!!! Good luck and get well soon.  View

Yes mar it is news, it's called sports news. Whether or not u like it millions of people are interested in sports. And for once workmule I agree with you,on 40th street. I was hoping he was gone forever, and not just from Newsy. As if Weiss is the only overweight coach in sports. Coaches are hired for their minds not their 40 times. You know well 40 th st wouldn't have made that post if Weiss was anything but white.  View

Yeah workmule, that's what the news is for, our well being. Ever read the USA Today? World, Sports, Money and Life/Entertainment are the sections you'll find. All with varying degrees of importance. People generally read the sections that they care about. Why did u click on the story if u don't care about it. You know why I don't subscribe to Good Housekeeping? Because I don't give a sh** what they have to say.Back to the woods Boy!  View

Babies and young children don't need gender indoctrination. It is pretty extreme int his country, from toys to clothes, and attitudes about sports and careers. I once saw a young toddler being scolded in a toy store for picking up a doll. Girls give up on math and engineering before they've ever tried it. The shrink in this news report is a quack. German and Scandinavian boys and girls are treated as equals when they are young, and yet have no trouble with gender identity once they hit puberty. We should give our kids a break.  View

I used to love hockey, but only getting my sports news through espn makes it difficult to easily track the NHL.  View

Correlation is not causation. Guessing that church potlucks make you fat is the same idea as saying families with kids that play sports are fat because of the post game pizza parties. How do you really expect that such broad generalizations are going to allow you to develop and test such a hypothesis? This isn't news, just a researcher trying to make a name for themselves with a controversial study.  View

I've recently become addicted to Newsy.com. I have this site save to my Chrome web browser favorites and even have the Android app on my cell for watching/listening to at work. This site use to be a more "fair and balanced" by offering only the multiple truthiness from both right and left leaning commentary. Yet, with comments like "Hardly a veiled threat", Newsy.com's news compositions (outside of the Entertainment or Sports sections) this site is more and more gaining a discriminate voice. Troubling.  View

I like Olbermann, he is exciting, but I can't see him winning an election, even though I think he would probably be the better candidate in most elections he would be involved in. If he were to run for election, it would probably fire up Republicans, and cost him the election. However, if he comes out with a strong campaign message, I think he might be able to pull it off. He has the personality and speaking skills thanks to Sports Center and Countdown, that I think he could frame his message in a way to gain him supporters, who might have hated him when he did his show, just because he was viewed as the antithesis to Bill O'Reilly and Fox News.  View

American culture is all about comparisons when it comes to stuff like this...whether it's who is the best basketball player, the best boxer, the best rapper, singer, cell phone, the best football team, etc., so why should we expect America (or more appropriately, the media) to act differently on this subject. In a world where the is 24-hour news stations, and even 24-hour sports news, they have to find something to talk about. But, that's another issue of our 'evolution'. How about we just appreciate UCONN for their incredible accomplishment and leave it at that. No comparisons needed.  View

I'm tired of everyone being tired of Favre's retirement talk. Get over yourselves. It's got NOTHING to do with you. It's his job, his career. You know who really enjoys this, for all their denials? Sports writers! They love this! Makes for good copy because Favre is and always will be big news. When he left the Packers, a lot of crap we were fed by the news was all innuendo, with nothing to back it up. But it made great copy! Old Jason W. rode Favre's coat tails to a bigger job, after being Brett's "insider" and confidante...Bet the Vikings players, coaches and management don't give a rat's ass whether or not you fair-weather fans have an opinion or not. If he plays, I'm definitely going to watch him; and if he doesn't, then I'm going to watch someone else! I LOVE football, have always been a Packer fan (long before I met Ray Nitschke and Paul Hornung), loved the Steel Curtain in the 70-80's, loved watching Roger Staubach play (especially in the 4th quarter!), still keep track of how Darren Sharper is doing, and am pleased to see Mark Tauscher back in Green Bay (after watching him as a Badger!). If anyone important ever calls you, be sure to tell them what you think. Otherwise, all you do is make it easier for sportswriters to fill a column.  View
