I think Obama went to build a relationship where there wasn't a great one before. Both countries have the opportunity to benefit from working together, and I think the trip was one step in building the relationship. View

I doubt that Obama was trying to express a big brother kind of relationship with China. He is trying to display a respect for the country that the US will be able to benefit from. That's why so many nations despise US citizens: because of an arrogance and air of superiority. He is trying to show something more than arrogance: humility. View

I'd rather compare Palin to Obama and put her track record up against his anyday!! We wouldn't have double-digit unemployment with the Governor, that's for sure. Palin understands the economic impact of lowering taxes and decreasing government spending and could teach Obama a thing or two, until Comrade Obama takes an overdue crash course in Economics 101.
By the way, I seem to recall the liberal media berating Reagan and referring to him as an embarrassing buffoon. Hmmm...Palin's critics are nothing more than an instant replay of the 80's. View

You people who are slamming Obama over his 'bow' to the Chinese guy? Get over yourselves. If Obama should be slammed for bowing, then so do Ike and Nixon who both bowed to leaders of other countries. And Bush 41 puke on the Japanese Ambassador. What does that say about our country, eh? Pots should not call kettles black. View

Was there a mistake in etiquette, yes. Should we be reading so far into this that we now assume Obama wants to rule the world (Limbaugh)? Of course not. We should take this at face value as a simple motion of respect until we are given a good reason to think it meant something more significant. Jumping to wild conclusions over something so simple is a waste of frustration. View
Ugh. Get over it - Obama's a nice guy, and he was just trying to be cordial instead of posturing and alienating the world. View

Although I am not a fan I actually believe Obama is try to sell the US with 1970's peace, love and flowers. Unfortunatly that historically has never worked. To power pepole he has lowerd himself and the US by loweing his politcle stature to another power. We do not even lower the US flag to others on thier soil.
So, huge political mistake that had an intent of a polite gesture. Obama is going to have to flex his muscle someday - but will it be respected after showering our politacle competetors with love flowers and peace signs?
He needs a correctness adviser to listen to. View

Anyone who knows the protocol knows that bowing at different angles means entirely different things. Obama showed subservience by his bow... something the president of the US should not be doing to any leader of any other country. He is he leader of the most powerful nation in the world. He should greet other leaders with respect, not submission. He's a embarrassment, plain and simple. An empty suit who's in far over his head. View

While Glenn does seem to go over the top sometimes in the process of speculating where Obama is taking us, there is no disputing the type of people Obama has surrounded himself with. There words and video clips tell the story. This is real folks, and if we keep "gandy dancing" with reality we, as, a country will have failed to let history guide us in the right direction. View
