I have talk about things like this for a while, now I'm going to say this publicly. Barack Obama deserve this award just for the simple fact that he is the FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT of THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Everyone didn't agree to that either, but he is that! The Nobel Peace Prize is giving to those people who have accomplished something. He has accomplished becoming the First Africa-American President. Do you know how hard it was to do that, NO! you don't! Because if it has ever been hard for anyone black to make anything out of themselves here in this country, without being an entertainer, because it seems like you people think that we have to do is entertain you, then you would agree that Barack worked hard to get elected President. I applaud Barack, The Only Black Man That Didn't Have To Tap Dance To Get Noticed!!!!  View

impeachthesockmonkey '10 's view are extremely biased and aren't factually supported, how is barack Obama supposed to stop america's problem's in as short of a time period as a year? I'm sure that you weren't complaining when Bush did NOTHING for 8 whole years, and the fact that he as president, had no problem looking the other way while our country's economy went down the drain! So please, the next time you think of criticizing our nation's president, look at what shape we were in before he came along, and I think you'll realize that we're far better with him than we were with Bush.  View

Barack Obama needs to end this ridiculous policy now. I am becoming increasingly disappointed in this administration's lack of action on the number of issues myself, and millions of others, enthusiastically elected him into office to change. Dick Cheney once said during the George W(hy) Bush presidency that their responsibility was to champion the causes of those that elected them (and the other 50 million of us who did not vote for them could essentially go to hell). Well...here we are on the other side of the coin. Where is our champion? He's stuck in Niceville, trying to include conservatives and consider their "feelings". He's riding a unicycle when we need a bulldozer.  View

An honor unearned is a badge of disgrace. The Nobel Peace Prize is Barack Obama's red badge of courage. Americans - and Barack Obama - should be ashamed.  View

As of the Sunday talk shows, the man is clearly unrepentant. I saw a man who just can't stand that Barack Obama is our President.  View

Flag this messageMessage from Senator Barack ObamaThursday, 30 June, 2005 3:47 PM From: "senator_obama@obama.senate.gov" Add sender to ContactsTo: samuelajanaku@yahoo.co.ukDear Samuel.Adeniyi.: Thank you for advising me of your support for the establishment of personal retirement accounts within the Social Security system. I appreciate hearing your comments on this extremely important issue. Although no Social Security reform legislation has been formally considered on the Senate floor this session, I have been following this discussion closely. I understand that some adjustments may need to be made to preserve the financial integrity of the program for current beneficiaries and to assure that workers who are paying Social Security taxes today get a solid return on their investment when they eventually retire. However, it is important to also remember that Social Security provides an important safety net to millions of older Americans, and that commitment should be respected. And, as we evaluate any reform proposal, we should not ignore the implications for today's workers, and their children, of the government potentially borrowing trillions of dollars to pay for the transition to private accounts at a time of historically high federal deficits and escalating national debt. After all, we are creating a crushing financial burden that will fall on the next generation to pay off. It is my hope that the effort to %u201Creform%u201D Social Security will be undertaken in a bipartisan spirit that protects the basic integrity of the Social Security program. Seniors have lived up to their end of the bargain, and workers who are paying into the system have the right to the expectation of a reasonable return on their investment in the Social Security System when they retire. The government must live up to its responsibility in this contract as it looks for ways to protect the investment of current workers. Again, thank you for contacting me about Social Security reforms. Please stay in touch in the days ahead. Sincerely, Barack Obama United States Senator P.S. Our system does not allow direct response to this email.
