Have you seriously investigated Romney's ways of making mega- bucks? Well if you aren't keen to his " Equity" company, I STRONGLY advise you to rent, TIVO, to the library, My God, whatever it does take, but get and watch with Michael Douglas the extremely iconic, and extremely true to this situation and man, " Wall Street," a genuine movie about a shady Wall St. Superdealer whom takes apart companies for only: MONEY. Now you can argue that Romney made better some of the companies he bought out, but no doubt, some of the buy outs were horrifying: Buy outs only for profit, needlessly, many thousands of Americans lost their jobs! Now you can then further argue that, that's the new and current, get with it face of the Modern/ Tea Party Conservative, to which I say as a true Independent (I both thought Ike and JFK were great presidents), then this: I utterly deplore the bent of Tea Party excesses where profit over people in the name and spirit of American Capitalism is given its just due, to which I deeply extort you my fellow and sister Americans, that to actually put profit over people will become the very death knell of American decency, goodness, and all that represents true American compassion, charity and HOPE!!! The Tea Party is albeit well- intentioned, but in its final analysis: A Movement led by the coldest and cruelest billionaires, like The Koch Brothers, whom monies are spent to insure the very wealthy never again have to give to those of us Americans, to whom the harsh realities of American living in this grossly unfair ship we call, Global Modernity, really is harsh, cold, uncaring, and blatantly only caring of the Almighty Buck, and not, nor never, GOD!! I'm glad this analysis emphasized how the record sales doesn't necessarily mean the growth rate is indicative of a better economic climate. Growth is a gradual, sustained process, not a dramatic one-day record.  View

I don't really care about this stuff, and I wish it all never came up. Because now we'll be hearing Cain crying about how this ruined his presidential bid, painting himself as the victim, claiming this is a conspiracy, etc. And he'll be completely unaware of the inevitable reality that he would have been rejected by the voters anyway once the analysis of his policies became more common knowledge. He's like some bad athlete that thinks he's the greatest, but injures himself before the competition and forever thinks he could have won. Well... I want him to fight and get his a** handed to him fair and square in the first round so we don't have to hear from him anymore.  View

That's my Bills, baby! I don't think anyone could have predicted this after the poor preseason games they had (and many poor seasons preceding that). I think they scored like 2 TDs the whole preseason or something like that. There were some ridiculous stats at certain points like 0 for 13 in pass attempts for the first half. I think that last pre-season game and then that killer game versus the terrible Chiefs might have given them confidence and allowed them to find how to click. Thank goodness they didn't play a tough team week 1. Though as with most armchair sport analysis, I may be completely off target in speculating about what actually is contributing to their success. Whatever it is, keep it up boys.  View

Hahaha. Forbes blames our economic problems on a dead president. Never mind that the percent in poverty dropped during the Johnson era. Thanks for that erudite analysis!  View

Lauren Delaney: HUFF POST reported 40,000 NOT 400,000 DEATHS in Mexico's drug war since 2006. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT. The attack took place is Monterrey, not Monterray. It's clear from how this report was patched together that newsy has not done any detailed analysis apart from inaccurately parroting other wire feeds.  View

@funny, don't pretend you have some statistical expertise. The only thing you've done is read an argument on a pro-creationist website that claimed that something is too improbable to have occurred naturally. The argument stated what you wanted to hear, so you quickly accepted it as fact, and now you arrogantly ridicule others for not doing the same. if I recall correctly, the pro-creationist probability argument didn't even refer to the big bang. It was about the chances of the spontaneous creation of life. Though that too was a flawed analysis, but that's another topic. The point here is that you've got your creationist arguments in a mess. I mean, exactly what part of particles coming together through their gravitational pulls to form planets and stars is improbable? Heck, we can see this actively happening in space.  View

Well it's great fun to blame Obama, I'm sure. But the reality is that the stimulus created millions of jobs and raised GDP growth a few points, as the CBO and any number of other non-partisan economic analysis groups can tell you. The continuation of the Bush financial sector bailouts were necessary for preventing additional collateral damage. Obama's auto company bailouts actually turned out to be successful, saving lots of jobs and having the loans repaid with interest. The other tool for recovering from recessions, the Fed funds rate, was already pushed down to zero under Bush, so no help there. So you tell me what Obama has left. There doesn't seem to be the political will for a bigger stimulus.  View
