First of all, I am not racist against ANY race; I respect African-Americans, Asian-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, and of course, even Caucasians. To let you know, I am married to a Caucasian and I love him and our mixed daughter to death. Second, I understand perfectly what you all trying to say about people coming here ILLEGALY, however, when you have tried to come here LEGALLY, with a visa, there's no way. Our CORRUPT countries will NEVER give us visas to get out and unfortunately, it's not that easy to go back to our countries and try to fix things. If it was that easy to go back and cooperate with the government then we wouldn't be here. Let me remind you all that I am legal so I have the same rights as you all to freedom of speech. I too can express my feelings and not care if I offend anybody. I wish there was a way that people come here legally but there isn't. The USA only accepts people who are well-educated and who are wealthy (they don't want anybody poor here because all this country is interested in is MONEY). We are not the only poor race and we are definitely not the only race infested with disease. Let me remind you that when Europeans came to this country, they brought with them all kinds of diseases that have stuck with the people up until now. If you're referring to the Swine Flu, any other country could have brought it as well. Besides, Americans have traveled to Mexico in this dire time and have brought back the disease with them. Why in the world would you go to a country that has a disease in it? Obviously they wanted to get infected. All countries have diseases and illnesses; cancers are everywhere and no one is safe from it. I'm not racist, as a matter of fact, I'm far from it. I'm defending what is mine as well and sorry but it's going to take more than what you all are writing. View

"The Land Of the Free" is free for a reason. Illiegal 'aliens' costumes is yet just another controversial event that we'll waste money and time on, rather than focusing on real prolems. Children are starving in Africa and yet we sit here arguing about childish Halloween costumes. View

The fact that he is the first african american president should not play into whether he gets it or not. That my friends is racial bias. Its like a less qualified white man gets a job over an african american for the color of his skin everyone would say racism but when the role is reversed its not racism he deserved it!!! Why is that??? because of 400 years of slavery?? every race in this world at one point or another has been enslaved by another!! Look at Rome enslaving most of Europe and the Ottoman empire enslaving millions!!! Get over it!! Not one person who lives in America has ever owned a slave. I will not take this burden as I did not commit it. As long as people of any race think they deserve something by the color of their skin racism will never die!!!! When someone cries out because they didnt get a job just because the color of their skin and they know they werent qualified enough and then gets it because of the complaint it ruins the integrity of the united states. I have been discriminated against as I fall into a smaller minority than African or Mexican Americans. I am a disabled American Veteran. I had to read a question that equated me to a felon and was told that I just shouldnt answer it. So discrimination is not just about race its about people and their insecurities. Did Obama deserve it??? Heck no. There are far too many other people in this world far more deserving. It was political!!! View

I have talk about things like this for a while, now I'm going to say this publicly. Barack Obama deserve this award just for the simple fact that he is the FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT of THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Everyone didn't agree to that either, but he is that! The Nobel Peace Prize is giving to those people who have accomplished something. He has accomplished becoming the First Africa-American President. Do you know how hard it was to do that, NO! you don't! Because if it has ever been hard for anyone black to make anything out of themselves here in this country, without being an entertainer, because it seems like you people think that we have to do is entertain you, then you would agree that Barack worked hard to get elected President. I applaud Barack, The Only Black Man That Didn't Have To Tap Dance To Get Noticed!!!! View

I am divided in whether or not President Obama actually deserved the Nobel Peace Prize. On one hand, broke barriers in becoming the first African-American president of the United States. It is no secret that racism still exists in the US, and he in some way bought the American people together at the polls. We elected him as our president not based on his race but what he stood for.
On the other hand, he contradicts one of the essential words in the title of the award: peace. We are a country at war that he, as the Commander in Chief is leading. With this he cannot receive an award for global peace when he's helping contribute to the world's turmoil. View

Its not about liberal, conservatives, Republican or Democrats, its about Socialism and pushing through an agenda that is Anti-american. When our first African-American President was elected I thought this Nation would come together for the good of all. When he spoke of "change" I thought it was change in forming a country that was strong, fighting our wars to win, strengthening our borders to keep drug dealers out, working to fix our broken infrastructures, putting all people back to work by encouraging free enterprise and businesses, putting billions of dollar into trade schools and not unions, revitalizing our auto industry by putting people back to work, getting out of the social injustice bandwagen and the vitimization themes, and getting this wonderful country back on track with all 350-million of us. I did not expect the "change" to take away freedom of speech and freedom of debate. What happened to Glenn Beck is wrong and I hope Americans realize what this is. This is a takeover of our freedoms. This is Socialism. This is what Americans fought to stop all over the world. I want my grandchildren to live in an America that is free. Where they can work and keep what they worked for. Whether you agree with him or not, Glenn Beck loved this country, he loved our constitution, which has served us for 200 years and he was right in exposing corruption and for that he paid a price. This is a sad day for all of us when we are not allowed to listen to opposing voices. What happened was wrong. View

What goes around definately comes back around, at least they still have their lives so many African Americans lost their lives at sea when the cargo was to heavy, the slave theives and traders opened the side of the boat and dumpted my people out shackled to eachother, the white man beat and raped our mothers, aunts and cousins, and when you were to old to work and had no use they killed you. My people were sold into slavery and Our black men were deprived of love, education and a good life. So you tell me. Payback is a mother isnt it...........this is just a small window into being African American.......and now we are African American and we experience oposition when we go to The Mother Land now because of our history we have America.......... To Mr. Ho and those who disbelieve that race, and particularly Pres. Carter's remarks are playing "the race card." I am a black American who refrains from attributing everything to racism. I'm not naïve rather I was raised to use education, civility and citizenship to combat such warped thinking. Yet as I see the level of vitriol and hateful remarks against the President I can only surmise it is race-driven. As President Mr. Carter said, there is a fundamental "fear" driving the hateful, vile remarks and depictions of who he is - personally and culturally. Instead of getting defensive, maybe you should question, %u201CWhy is that?%u201D Consider this: 1. Parents in outrage that the Mr. Obama wants to address their children - general comments alluded they didnt want Pres. Obama "indoctrinating" their children. What would make a parent so afraid of their kids hearing from our president? Also know that GWBush and Reagan spoke to kids without any furor. 2. The lack of respect for the office by Rep Wilson in chambers 3. Americans toting GUNS to town hall meetings were veiled threats plain and simple, and 4. Signs at the recent Tea Party were ugly, racist and as hateful as they come, mentioning guns, zoos, witch doctors and being "African" in the most ugly and disgusting manner. President Carter said what most persons of his stature have not: This Is Wrong, Not freedom of speech or simple disagreement with the President%u2019s policies. It is racially-based and it is frightening. To Mr. Ho and those who immediately decry illuminating this truth as playing the "race card" - calling something wrong isnt the boy crying wolf, rather it is shouting "The emperor has no clothes". People look at what's happening & let's beat back the current climate. View
That's interesting! Hopefully the internet can get running faster in South Africa soon... and hopefully they are sending the information on the pigeon in a weather/water proof way View
